Following a screening of the cult classic rockumentary “This is Spinal Tap” at the Tribeca Film Festival, the band performed songs from the film and surprised the audience with an appearance from Elvis Costello.
Members of the fictional British rock band — Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer — took the stage at the Beacon Theatre on Saturday to play some of their classic tunes, including “Flower People,” “Hell Hole,” “All the Way Home” and “Clam Caravan.” Costello came out mid-way through to perform “Gimme Some Money” with them before the group ended the night with “Sex Farm.”
Earlier in the night, director Rob Reiner came out to introduce the film, which is currently celebrating its 35th anniversary, quipping that it just made him feel “old.”
