Fast-food chain Steak ‘n Shake has announced plans to remove all microwaves from its 390 U.S. restaurants as part of its ongoing effort to improve food quality.

“Steak n Shake is removing all microwaves from its restaurants. Quality restaurants don’t need microwaves,” said a spokesperson. “It is part of our journey to improve food quality and use traditional methods of cooking only.”

The microwave ban represents the latest in a series of quality-focused changes at Steak ‘n Shake. Last year, the chain transitioned to using 100 percent all-natural beef tallow for cooking, eliminating seed oils from its restaurants.
